Best Practices Event: The Digital Data Room as an Opportunity for Competitiveness – A Solution for SMEs
Ensuring their competitiveness is currently the biggest challenge for many small and medium-sized enterprises in particular—rising costs, reporting requirements, and a shortage of skilled workers are limiting their room to maneuver. At the same time, relevant data on orders, asset conditions, and supply chains is scattered across various systems, technically incompatible, and rarely shared due to fears of losing control—leaving potential for efficiency and innovation untapped. Digital data rooms can help in several ways here, for example, by flexibly utilizing production capacities within partner networks, bridging bottlenecks, and improving one’s own delivery capabilities, as well as making service and fault diagnosis significantly faster and more precise. In doing so, data rooms rely on European standards and federated structures that prevent new data monopolies and ensure fair competitive conditions for many providers, including small and medium-sized enterprises. In the workshop “The Digital Data Room as an Opportunity for Competitiveness – A Solution for SMEs,” the Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHKs), the SCALE-MX project, and Fraunhofer IOSB-INA will provide a low-threshold introduction to the “data room for everyone” at SmartFactoryOWL in Lemgo and demonstrate in a practical manner how SMEs can utilize such approaches step by step. Train-the-Trainer | Introductory Module: Industrial Data Rooms for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (Module 1)
Many companies face major challenges—bureaucracy, rising customer expectations, and a shortage of skilled workers lead to high costs, frustration, and competitive difficulties. Data ecosystems offer solutions. Data ecosystems enable secure, autonomous, and direct data exchange. They are central to the future competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises. The Train-the-Trainer program is aimed at multipliers who wish to further their professional and methodological knowledge regarding data ecosystems. The program’s goal is to provide you with a fundamental understanding of data ecosystems and why they are relevant to businesses. To this end, you will be taught practical knowledge and provided with methods to assess potential and communicate it to your target audience. In addition, you will be able to assess companies’ readiness to participate in data ecosystems and show them concrete steps they can take to benefit from the advantages. No prior knowledge of digitalization is required. Participation is free of charge. More info ›
